Detailed Information about Various Cells of Pakistan-Backed Terror Organization Indian Mujahideen

Following the December 7, 2010 blasts in the northern Indian holy town of Varanasi (formerly Benares), Indian security agencies have released the names of 31 most wanted militants operating under the banner of Indian Mujahideen (IM), a militant group comprising Indian Muslim youth but run by the Pakistani jihadist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.
In the years following the 2002 anti-Muslim riots in the western Indian state of Gujarat, Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Pakistani military's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) roped in a number of Muslim youth from India. Around 2005, a number of new militant organizations began coming to the attention of Indian security agencies, among them Indian Mujahideen and Deccan Mujahideen, which allegedly have strong links to Pakistan.
The December 7 explosion in Varanasi killed an infant and wounded 32 other people. Indian security agencies believe the attack was planned by the IM – possibly scheduled for the previous day to mark the anniversary of the 1992 demolition of Babri Mosque on December 6, 1992.
A report published by the Indian website rediff.com lists the names of the 31 militants wanted by Indian security agencies for their links to different cells of the IM spread across various states of India. Some of the names are not those of top militant commanders, but are believed to be the next generation of leaders of IM. They are responsible for blasts in several Indian cities in recent years, including Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.
Following are excerpts from the report:[1]
"The 'Most Wanted Terrorists' List Comprises Jihadis From the Indian Mujahideen [IM] and the Jam-i-Yyathul Ansarul Muslimeen [JIAM]"
"Thirty-one names are part of a new 'Wanted' list charted after the recent Varanasi blast… The 'Most Wanted Terrorists' list comprises jihadis from the Indian Mujahideen [IM] and the Jam-I-yyathul Ansarul Muslimeen [JIAM], which is strongest in [southern states of] Kerala and Karnataka…"
"In addition to this, [captured militant] T. Nasir – the main accused in the Bengaluru [formerly Bangalore] blasts – has also spoken about this organization and has termed it a growing outfit that focuses more on recruitment and fundraising for the Indian Mujahideen. Interestingly, of the 31 names, 10 are from Karnataka while eight are from [northern state of] Uttar Pradesh…"
"Indian Mujahideen – Karnataka:
"1. Riyaz Bhatkal [above, top]: Bhatkal was responsible for setting up the Indian Mujahideen, along with the Pakistan-based Amir Reza. He started off as an ordinary messenger, giving information to Hindus and Muslims for money, in an already-charged-up communally sensitive town called Bhatkal in coastal Karnataka. He was also accused of murder, which he claimed was a false case. His disgruntlement with the system led the ISI [Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan] to rope him in to form the Indian Mujahideen. He shuttles between Sharjah and Karachi…"
"2. Iqbal Bhatkal [above, bottom]: Also hailing from Bhatkal, he is the brother of Riyaz. He is believed to have influenced Riyaz's decision to a large extent. He was already an extremist before the Indian Mujahideen was formed. He is believed to have helped alter the communal nature of Bhatkal to a large extent. However, after the formation of the IM, he joined the outfit and his area of operation has been more in the [western] state of Gujarat.
"3. Yasin Bhatkal: Another brother of Riyaz Bhatkal, his name first came into the picture following the blasts at Bangalore. He was largely into recruitment with his brother Riyaz and handled Karnataka for a long period of time before having to leave the country.
"4. Mudassir: Mudassir alias Saif is a master bomb-maker. His involvement with the IM started at the time when Riyaz decided to change path. Riyaz, who was well known to Mudassir, roped him in immediately and sent him to train in preparation of bombs… He too is currently believed to be hiding in Pakistan.
"Indian Mujahideen – Uttar Pradesh:

"1. Ariz Khan: A key member of the IM, originally from [the town of] Azamgarh, Ariz, alias Junaid's, major operation was the Delhi blasts two years back. Although he hailed from Uttar Pradesh, his primary focus was on building the Delhi module. He coordinated along with another operative, Shahzad, to carry out both attacks and also recruitments. He fled the country after this incident, but his associate Shehzad was nabbed.
"2. Mirza Shahdab Baig: A key member of the Uttar Pradesh module. According to the IB, he handled most of the IM recruitments. His area of operation was restricted to Uttar Pradesh and he focused on roping in youth from that state itself.
"3. Mohammed Sajid and Mohammad Khalid: Also from Azamgarh, these two jihadis were crucial to the operations in New Delhi. They shuttled between Delhi and UP [Uttar Pradesh] and tried building a road map for the IM. Besides, they also were very close to Dr. Shahnawaz, who today is accused of masterminding the Varanasi attack.]
"4. Dr. Shahnawaz [pictured in inset above]: Believed to be in Sharjah, Dr. Shahnawaz was the most crucial member in the IM for the Delhi module at least. Closely associated with the Bhatkal brothers, Shahnawaz – a resident of Azamgarh, UP – is said to be controlling operations from Sharjah…"
"5. Asadullah Akhtar: Second-in-command to Dr. Shahnawaz, Akhtar, a pharmacist, is said to have joined the IM at the insistence of the former. He and Dr. Shahnawaz closely monitored the Delhi blasts and were involved right from the planning stages. He is also currently believed to be in Sharjah.
"6. Abu Rashid and Sharfuddin: These two jihadis, belonging to Uttar Pradesh, were foot soldiers in the Indian Mujahideen. They too are believed to have played an active part in the Delhi blasts and helped gather logistic support for the IM. The duo, according to agencies, is in Nepal today.
"Indian Mujahideen – Gujarat:
"Mujeeb and Alamzeb Afridi: For the Gujarat blasts, the IM was particular that it would not use too many of their operatives from that state, as they did not wish to leave a trail. Mujeeb, who is part of the Gujarat module, joined the IM the day it was launched and helped with logistics during the blasts. He also used the help of his associate Afridi, alias Chikna, to help the IM operatives have a safe passage into Gujarat to carry out the blasts…"
"Indian Mujahideen – Jharkhand:
"Danish and Manzar Imamuddin Khan: Probably one of the smallest modules of the IM, these two men were in charge of setting up a larger module at Jharkhand. The two men, reportedly from the IM's Delhi module, had planned… to set up full-fledged modules in Jharkhand before the heat was stepped up. There were also reports of these men cozying up to anti-social elements in the state to increase their strength…"
"Indian Mujahideen – Maharashtra:

"1. Abdus Subhan: The tech guru started off by editing a newspaper printed by Students of Islamic Movement of India [SIMI] before he made the transition into the IM. While the Bhatkal brothers are credited with setting up the IM, Subhan is the one who breathed life into the organization. His first job was to rope in the arrested Mansoor Pheerbhuoy and set up IM's tech cell, which had largely outfoxed investigating agencies… [Later, he] fled the country and there is specific information that he is currently in hiding in Karachi.
"2. Abu Faisal: He was with the IM in the Maharashtra module and was largely involved in setting up one of the strongest modules in the state at Pune [near Mumbai]. When Subhan was in the country, he worked closely with him and helped him set up the outfit. In addition to this, he also managed to rope in youth to join the movement.
"3. Mohsin Chaudhary [pictured in inset above]: Mohsin is a crucial IM member capable of carrying out an attack, due to the deep-rooted contacts he has in the state. While the police claim that the Pune module of the IM was busted following the [February 2002] German Bakery blasts, they still have cause for concern, since Chaudhary is still at large. Chaudhary is the one who masterminded the Pune blasts and his role is under the scanner in the Varanasi blasts as well. Chaudhary is in the Gulf…"
"The JIAM List – Karnataka and Kerala:
"Mohammed Hussain Farhan, Maulana Sultan Shah, Azam, Jasim, Samir Salim Khan, Wasim, K. P. Sabir, Mohammed Azhar, Yusuf, Shafiq, Raisal P. A., Mohammed Shabir: Each of these men played a role in the growth of this shadow outfit, which was set up to strengthen the roots of both the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the IM in South India.
"The IB says that all these jihadis have been using a different names in order to remain off the radar. They helped carry out the Bengaluru blasts under the guise of the JIAM in order avoid heat on IM operatives. However, the investigations that followed and also the interrogation of T. Nasir blew the lid off this outfit."

Footage of Woman Receiving Lashing at Khartoum Police Station; Khartoum Governor Justifies Punishment. Warning: Extremely Graphic Images

Footage of a Sudanese woman being lashed by uniformed policeman at a Khartoum police station. The crowd of men gathered around laugh at the process. [...]

[object Object]

Governor of Khartoum, Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Al-Khadr: "What was aired was the implementation of an Islamic punishment. The sentence of a court of the state was carried out in that manner. We should distinguish between two things: the punishment in and of itself, and the way it was carried out, about which something might be said.

"We should consider the more important issue in this case – our penal code is in keeping with Islam, and the shari'a is the main source of our legislation. Islamic punishments are carried out to purge the perpetrator. [...]

"The people who made this public could have concealed the girl's face. There are many techniques that allow you to do so. Things that were kept hidden were exposed by this harmful media publication. This proves that their goal was not to discuss the crime or the punishment. Rather, this is a case of political harassment." [...]

Interviewer: "This is not a case of a woman wearing pants, is it?"

Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Al-Khadr: "No, it is not. I did not mention the nature of the crime, because I do not want to slander her. It has to do with immoral activity and prostitution. The verdict was issued by judges, not by the police." [...]

113. In a Pooja, the ‘sankalpa’ begins with "Bharata varshe, Bharata kande ...". What are they? Do you still think that spiritualism and nationalism are different or are they the two eyes of the nation?
114. Spiritualism and nationalism are inseparable in Bharat. Don’t you think that without spiritualism Bharat will be like a body without soul?
115. Why should practising my religion or wearing my religious symbol hurt the feelings of other religionists, when their practising their religion or wearing their religious symbol does not hurt me at all? If this is not religious hatred, what else is?

122. In the Radha Bhai Chawl (Mumbai) case, the people responsible for the massacre of innocent Hindus were let off by the High Court. How is it that, in the Baroda Best Bakery case, the Supreme Court becomes overzealous in asking the whole case to be transferred out of Gujarat? Are Muslims more equal than Hindus before law?
123. When a Muslim files a PIL on Ayodhya Sri Rama Temple construction, Supreme Court takes cognizance of his PIL. In Kanchi Shankaracharya case, Shri B.P. Singhal’s PIL is dismissed with the remark that the petitioner does not have a locus standi in this case. Is this not double-standard?
124. In the case of Teesta Setalvad, the Maharashtra HC directs that three days notice be served before her arrest. Why is it that the same facility has been denied to one of the most revered Hindu religious heads – Kanchi Shankaracharya? Is Teesta Setalvad more equal before law?
125. A Muslim can keep a battery of four wives at one time and it is lawful. But, if a Hindu has more than one wife, he is guilty of breaking the law. Is it not a contradiction against the very spirit of natural justice?

What happened in during Mughal rule (occupation) of India?

This article is taken from Wikipedia. Check the original link here:

During Islamic rule of the Indian sub-continent

The Muslim conquest of the Indian subcontinent led to widespread carnage because Muslims regarded the Hindus as infidels and therefore slaughtered and converted millions of Hindus. Will Durant argued in his 1935 book "The Story of Civilization: Our Oriental Heritage" (page 459):
The Mohammedan conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. The Islamic historians and scholars have recorded with great glee and pride the slaughters of Hindus, forced conversions, abduction of Hindu women and children to slave markets and the destruction of temples carried out by the warriors of Islam during 800 AD to 1700 AD. Millions of Hindus were converted to Islam by sword during this period.
There is no official estimate of the total death toll of Hindus at the hands of Muslims.
As Braudel put it: "The levies it had to pay were so crushing that one catastrophic harvest was enough to unleash famines and epidemics capable of killing a million people at a time. Appalling poverty was the constant counterpart of the conquerors' opulence."
The backward castes of Hinduism suffered worst. Monarchs (belonging to backward castes) such as Khusrau Bhangi Khan, Hemchandra and Garha-Katanga were knocked off their throne and executed. Backward caste saints like Namadeva[1] were arrested, while women like Kanhopatra were forced to commit suicide. Ghisadis have an “Urdu” title.[2]
Prof. K.S. Lal, suggests a calculation in his book Growth of Muslim Population in Medieval India which estimates that between the years 1000 AD and 1500 AD the population of Hindus decreased by 80 million. Even those Hindus who converted to Islam were not immune from persecution, which was illustrated by the Muslim Caste System in India as established by Ziauddin al-Barani in the Fatawa-i Jahandari.[3] where they were regarded as "Ajlaf" caste and subjected to severe discrimination by the "Ashraf" castes.[4]

By Arabs

Muslim conquest of the Indian subcontinent began during the early 8th century, when the Umayyad governor of DamascusHajjaj responded to a casus belli provided by the kidnapping of Muslim women and treasures by pirates off the coast of Debal,[5] by mobilizing an expedition of 6,000 cavalry under Muhammad bin-Qasim in 712 CE. Records from the campaign recorded in the Chach Nama record temple demolitions, and mass executions of resisting Sindhi forces and the enslavement of their dependents. This action was particularly extensive in Debal, of which Qasim is reported to have been under orders to make an example of while freeing both the captured women and the prisoners of a previous failed expedition. Bin Qasim then enlisted the support of the local JatMeds and Bhutto tribes and began the process of subduing and conquering the countryside. The capture of towns was also usually accomplished by means of a treaty with a party from among his "enemy", who were then extended special privileges and material rewards.[6] However, his superior Hajjaj reportedly objected to his method by saying that it would make him look weak and advocated a more hardline military strategy:[7]
It appears from your letter that all the rules made by you for the comfort and convenience of your men are strictly in accordance with religious law. But the way of granting pardon prescribed by the law is different from the one adopted by you, for you go on giving pardon to everybody, high or low, without any discretion between a friend and a foe. The great God says in the Koran [47.4]: "0 True believers, when you encounter the unbelievers, strike off their heads." The above command of the Great God is a great command and must be respected and followed. You should not be so fond of showing mercy, as to nullify the virtue of the act. Henceforth grant pardon to no one of the enemy and spare none of them, or else all will consider you a weak-minded man.
In a subsequent communication, Hajjaj reiterated that all able-bodied men were to be killed, and that their underage sons and daughters were to be imprisoned and retained as hostages. Qasim obeyed, and on his arrival at the town of Brahminabad massacred between 6,000 and 16,000 of the defending forces.[8] The historian, Upendra Thakur records the persecution of Hindus and Buddhists:
When Muhammad Kasim invaded Sind in 711 AD, Buddhism had no resistance to offer to their fire and steel. The rosary could not be a match for the sword and the terms Love and Peace had no meaning to them. They carried fire and sword wherever they went and obliterated all that came their way. Muhammad triumphantly marched into the country, conquering Debal, Sehwan, Nerun, Brahmanadabad, Alor and Multan one after the other in quick succession, and in less than a year and a half, the far-flung Hindu kingdom was crushed, the great civilization fell back and Sind entered the darkest period of its history. There was a fearful outbreak of religious bigotry in several places and temples were wantonly desecrated. At Debal, the Nairun and Aror temples were demolished and converted into mosques.[Resistors] were put to death and women made captives. The Jizya was exacted with special care.[Hindus] were required to feed Muslim travellers for three days and three nights.[9]
Other historians and archaeologists such as J E Lohuizen-de Leeuw, take the following stance regarding events preceding the sack of Debal:
In fact, we have clear evidence that the Arabs were very tolerant towards both Buddhists and Hindus during the rest of the campaign and throughout the time they ruled Sind...Of course that does not mean that no monuments were ever destroyed, for war always means a certain amount of damage to buildings but it does prove that there was no wanton and systematic destruction of each and every religious center of the Buddhists and Hindus in Sind.[10]

Mahmud of Ghazni

Mahmud of Ghazni was an Afghan Sultan who invaded the Indian subcontinent during the early 11th century. His campaigns across the gangetic plains are often cited for theiriconoclastic plundering and destruction of temples such as those at Mathura and he looked upon their destruction as an act of "jihad".[11]
Pradyumna Prasad Karan further describes Mahmud's invasion as one in which he put "thousands of Hindus to the sword" and made a pastime of "raising pyramids of the skulls of the Hindus".[12][13] Holt et al. hold an opposing view, that he was "no mere robber or bloody thirsty tyrant" . Mahmud shed no blood "except in the exegencies of war",[14] and was tolerant in dealings with his own Hindu subjects, some of whom rose to high posts in his administration, such as his Hindu General Tilak[14]
Mahmud of Ghazni sacked the second Somnath Temple in 1026, and looted it of gems and precious stones and the famous Shiva lingam of the temple was destroyed .[15] Later the temple was demolished by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1706.[16]

Muhammad Ghori

Muhammad Ghori committed genocide against Hindus at Kol (modern Aligarh), Kalinjar and Varanasi, according to Hasan Nizami's Taj-ul-Maasir, 20,000 Hindu prisoners were slaughtered and their heads offered to crows.[17]
